The work portrays a meticulous mansion on a quiet central street in Sofia, seen by thousands, yet rarely truly observed. Its façade is enriched with Secession-style ornamentation and layered terraces that reveal traces of craftsmanship, history and care.
As plaster crumbles, brickwork emerges beneath the surface, while the weathered wooden canopy takes on the colours and textures of natural decay. Although the building deserves restoration, its elegant ruin has created another form of existence: silent, dignified and filled with untold stories.
The original artwork is a handmade drawing collage created with ink on silk-white washi paper, PVC and frosted polyester. The photograph incorporated into the collage was taken and printed by the artist.
