The work engages directly with a building in a state of deterioration, tracing and extending the voids formed by cracks, ruptures and fragmented surfaces. Rather than treating decay as mere damage, the drawing reveals it as a spatial and narrative condition, one that exposes the building’s shifting character over time.

The composition unfolds through a sequence of layered interventions. The first layer captures the building in its immediate state through photography, preserving its colour, brightness and surface vitality. The second layer introduces a backdrop, almost like a curtain, opening up a virtual space in which further urban traces can emerge.

The third layer gives dimension to the voids themselves, those areas where the façade has lost its original integrity and material coherence. The final layer distills the image into a quieter architectural narrative, focusing on what remains suspended above these ruptures: something fragile, temporal and seemingly on the verge of disappearance.

Together, the layers represent different states of life, matter and transformation. The work reflects on the building not as a fixed object, but as an organic condition shaped by time, erosion and the unstable coexistence of presence and loss.
